Enjoy your kids

OK, so kids are learning things so much faster and earlier these days. I remember when Trenton was in pre-k and in kindergarten. He learned letter and number recognition, his colors and how to spell and write his name. In first grade he started learning blends and how to read. I always felt that Trenton was a fast learner and he was a sponge as far as remembering things and he does very well in school now in the 4th grade.

Hollie is in k4 at daycare and she has already learned how to spell and write her first and last name, she knows mine and Jeff's cell phone number, she is in the process of learning our address, she can count forwards and backwards, she can tell time on a digital clock, she can recognition all her numbers and letters, she knows mine and her daddy's name (Kristi and Jeff), she is can and is learning more of how to read (3 letter words and some 4 letter words). This is just a small list of things that she is learning at school. Her teacher told me that she is starting to act out during class work time because she is bored. She doesn't want to trace the letters on the worksheets (you know the ones where the letters are done in dots and you have to trace them an then write them your self.) She told her teacher that she already knows how to write them so why do I have to trace them. She is quick at picking out her blends. Oh yea, she also knows all of her vowels. So they are going to give her some 5k worksheets to see how she does with that.

It is amazing at how much kids at any age can learn and obtain now. So, enjoy your kids while you can, while they will let you, while they are small. One day they are going to be teenagers, then grownups with a family of their own.

I love my kids more than anything and want them to learn as much as they can and get the best education they can get so they can be the best they can be. But, it seems like yesterday I was bringing them home from the hospital and waiting for them to look at me and smile.

My nephew (who was born about 11 weeks early last year) turned 1 in March this year. He is already walking and trying to talk. It is sooo cute, but again, it seems like yesterday when we found out that he was coming home from the NICU.

It is truly amazing at how fast kids grow. So just love your kids and enjoy every minute that you have with them. Because before you know it they will be going to college.

love you all and your kids.

They really do grow up fast! Jaxson is already trying to be so independent! He doesn't want us to help him eat or help him walk. He wants to do it!
