It has been a while- Sorry

Ok, so it has been a while since I last blogged- Sorry, it has been busy. Let me catch you up...

So far both kids are doing well in school.
Trenton again is going through this I hate school, why do I have to go. And again I tell him to get used to it because he will be in school until he is 18. He hates homework still, but is understanding that it has to be done. Last year during Spring ball, I told Trenton that if his homework was not done (correctly) at daycare for us to check at home that he would not be making his practices or his games. That really seemed to work. So this year, I have already started using that line. Since Fall ball started this past weekend and bowling started last week, I have told him that homework has to be done at daycare (again- correctly) or there will not be any sports for that day. Homework for him consists of 20 spelling words, 7-10 vocab words, and 20 minutes of reading. Now, he has done well with the spelling words and vocab words so far. Reading is where he has the trouble. He can read, however, it is hard for him to read and comprehend everything that he is reading. He only comprehends part of it. This is hard because the test is on the whole story, not part of it. So any suggestions on how to help him with this will be greatly appreciated.
I am already having trouble with his teacher not communicating with me. According to Trenton he had to sign the conduct book the other day. From listening to his side, it was something stupid that she was being petty about. However, I have yet to receive a note, email or phone call from her to let me know that something happened. There have been some other small things as well. I think I am going to have to call a conference with her, which is sad because school is just getting started good.

Hollie learns 3 letters (one each week) and 3 numbers (one each week) each month. They review all letters and numbers (1-10) each day, however the main focus is on one letter and one number. Then the last week they review everything. For August, they learned 1-3 and I,E, and U. She learned that these were vowels. Her writing is getting better. Oh Yea, she is learning how to read 3 letter words. She already knows her name and can recognize other things, but they are learning to read now. I love Hollie's teacher. She is great.

Work is going great, I still love my new job.

Um, I think that is all for now.
Come back this week for pictures of the kids first bowling and first ball practice.

Oh Yea, Here are some pictures from Hannah's bday weekend and from the kids last swimming before school started. http://picasaweb.google.com/grahambunch/HannahsBdayWkend
